Red Wings - Penguins Game 3 Review
The super powerful and magnificent Sidney Crosby playoff beard has apparent powers that only are effective at home.
Pittsburgh, behind the power of the peach-fuzzed one's two goals, beat the Red Wings 3-2 in what was a very entertaining game.
Stat Sheet:
Pitt
Crosby 2 Goals
Hall 1 Goal
Det.
Franzen 1 Goal
Samuelsson 1 Goal
While this game could prove to be a huge change of momentum in the series, it could also just be a young team having a huge burst of energy at home.
Even while the Penguins played at their very, very best--the Red Wings were still competitive.
Really, this game could have been a Red Wings win.
If it wasn't very Adam Hall's third period goal going off the back of Chris Osgood and Thomas Holmstrom missing on a wide open net--the Red Wings win this contest.
It really was a good game for Pittsburgh but all of the Penguins goals should have been avoided by the Red Wings if they had avoided some costly turnovers.
However, this game is done and its time to look ahead to game 4. A preview will be coming later in the week, but a little roster/injury update.
»The off-interfering Thomas Holmstrom (left) is expected to practice Friday and then the Red Wings will determine his status for game 4, says this Ansar Khan article.
» Also, I'm expecting Andres Lilja to be inactive for game 4 and the Red Wings to activate wiley-ye-olde-veteran Chris Chelios.

Good information, Josh. Completely agree, this was a game that was in reach but the breaks didn't go our way. Hopefully we get a few more chances that yield goals in game 4.
Inserting Chelios instead of Lilja is a pick your poison situation in my opinion. They are both worrisome opstions.
Good post.
