The Weekend in Football (October 26th-28th)

Michigan State @ Iowa
The Javon Ringer and Jehuu Caulcrick Show makes it was into Iowa this week-end in a Big Ten matchup. Iowa (3-5) has not had a good season since the days of Drew Tate, even becoming the beating stick of the Big Ten for the past few seasons (except for Minnesota, but we'll save that for later). This game is a real test for Mark D'Antonio however, as it is not only a bounceback game after a loss to Ohio State, but also a trap game as the Spartans find themselves mentally wanting to prepare for the next few weeks and overlook this game against the Hawkeyes.

MSU rolls: 31- 17

Minnesota @ Michigan
Possibly the worst team in Div-1 Football comes into Michigan Stadium this weekend as the Minnesota Pyrite Gophers come to Ann Arbor. Minnesota is terrible, there is no way to sugar coat this. Since there loss against North Dakota State last week (who knew there was one), the Gophers have received quite a bit of criticism for representing the Big Ten.
It could be possible that Michigan sits both Chad Henne and Mike Hart in this game, as Minnesota is no more then a Pee Wee team.

Michigan rolls: 600-2

Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
The 4-2 Detroit Lions visit Soldier Field this weekend to take on their division rivals from Chicago. This game is a battle of a team trying to keep winning against a team fighting for their playoff lives early in the year.
This game will be closely contested, but the Boys in the Honolulu Blue pull this one out. Here's why:
  • Detroit Lions tied for first in league in takeaways; Brian Griese with 6 INTs in 4 games played
  • The Bears are still injured on defense. Starting CB Nathan Vasher is out against Jon Kitna and his 1480 passing yards.
  • The Lions have finally established a half decent running game with last week's 76 yard and 1 TD performance from Kevin Jones.
Lions pull it out late: 24-17
