Its Time; Ka-boom Time.

Pistons Post-Season: Part One--The Must Do's and Might Do's.

Its time for the Pistons to blow things up.

We've been to six straight eastern conference finals, we hung a championship banner. That is all in the past now. The only thing we can look to the past for is the fact that we can be confident in Joe Dumars building a championship caliber team again.

This team's core no longer has the will to win nor the youth and energy it will take to win. Its time to start a new.

Planning the Off-Season.

The Must Do's:

  • The removal of Flip Saunders. It is apparent this team has no respect for Saunders and that he does not have the ability to develop players any better then the assistant coaches.

  • Parting ways with Rasheed Wallace. Rasheed's time in Detroit has run its course, and it had resulted in a lot of good things. However, that was in the past and he is now a detriment to the team and a stunting to the growth of younger players such as Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiell.

  • Growing the StuckNasty. Rodney Stuckey has proved that he has the potential to be a really good NBA player. His sophomore season will be the upswing or leveling off of his career.

The Might Do's: The Pistons will have to field some trade offers this off-season, and they may have to part with some important pieces that some people may fear to let go.

  • Be open for the trading of Tayshaun Prince. Tayshaun is a quality individual, but I think his growth has stunted in the NBA. His offensive game is fully developed as is his defense, but he does not have the stamina to be an influence in the post-season.

  • Downplaying Chauncey Billups or Richard Hamilton's minutes. Its a scary proposition, but its something the Pistons may have to consider after realizing that Rodney Stuckey may turn out to be an elite NBA player.

Rest of the Schedule. One part released a week, starting soon. Stay Tuned.

Its unfortunate that Flip has to go... he has done a lot of good things with his work ethic here. Its just the players don't respect him.

Man, you can't even think of getting rid of Tayshaun. He's been in the ECF all the years of his career. talk about a proven winner!

It is amazing that this team can continue to be so succesful, but people aren't happy with it.

Just further proof that conference finals are not enough -- you've got to win championships

I don't about down playing Rip's or Chauncey's minutes, because if we trade Tay for a good center, or even just get rid of him, we can get Stuckey more minutes in the rotation.
