I've never been the biggest fan of Flip Saunders, from even before he was with the Pistons to now, but enough is enough. The prospect of this team going to 6 consecutive Eastern Conference Finals and walking away with only one NBA Championship is sad. We walked away from a potential modern-day dynasty to a nice little team that did some nice things.
First off, the news of the day:
According to Chris McCosky, Amir Johnson, Rodney Stuckey, and Arron Afflalo are being phased out for the playoff race
All year I've been highly critical of the lack of playing time for the rookies. Now, that idea has been proven to be right. Flip Saunders' lack of integrating the young players in the rotation have caused their development to be stunted and has left them unprepared for the playoffs.
Theo Ratliff, Juan Dixon, Lindsey Hunter.
Twenty Two games between them for this year, with Hunter taking 17 of the games.
You've got to be getting me.
Yes, I understand the veterans are much more clutch in clinch time then the rookies. But we've got 3 guys who don't even fit on this team in here.
Thats why I'm calling for Flip Saunders head. Enough is enough, if you can't get a team's bench set up in 3/4 of a season, then you shouldn't be the coach of an NBA team.
