Richard Zednik stable after having throat slashed on ice

Florida Panthers' player Richard Zednik is stable at Buffalo General Hospital after having his throat accidentally slashed by teammate Olli Jokinen's skate blade last night.

The blade reportedly missed the jugular vein by inches, which may have resulted in a much more serious injury.

Since I'm squeamish as hell, this is really the only picture I'm willing to look at, featuring just the ice with a trail of blood after Zednik had skated off the ice:

Thoughts and Prayers with him and his family.
