SCOUT.com: There are radio reports saying West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez is going to be Michigan's next head coach. Are they jumping the gun, or heralding the new U-M era? *NEW* Meanwhile, Rodriguez has a presser scheduled.
Rich Rodriguez runs a spread offense, that has a focus on a mobile quarterback and a nearly completely run based attack. This would be a huge adjustment from the offense Michigan has ran for the past 30+ years.
In my opinion, it would result in freshman quarterback Ryan Mallet (who does NOT fit Rich Rodriguez's offense at all) transferring. Possible destinations would include schools like Arkansas, where there is a pipeline to the NFL.
